April in Review & A Look Head at May | Angie McPherson Photography

April in Review | A Look Ahead at May

April was a whirlwind of sessions, mentoring, workshops, exciting opportunities and family time! And now I am SO pumped for this month! My wedding season begins this weekend and five of my brides are getting married this month (including a double-header and destination wedding)! Let’s get down to the recap/ review 🙂

April

I kicked off April with mini sessions! A handful of my 2017 brides had beautiful baby bellies so I was super excited about that haha! I also met many new faces and the weather was BEAUTIFUL.

I photographed Aisha & TC’s Please House Point engagement session and can’t wait for their wedding in September!

Elizabeth and I hosted Creative Connections, a fun and unique networking event for local female entrepreneurs!  12 creative business owners + 2 facilitators + activities + diverse networking platform made for a great time 🙂

Shannon & Kevin’s Freemason District and Norfolk Pagoda engagement session made me SOOOOO happy! They are so adorable and I couldn’t get over her dress!

We haven’t announced it yet but I did some REALLY EXCITED with Christina and Crystal! Stay tuned!!

Shaun and I enjoyed a date day at Top Golf celebrating our friend’s birthday! <3 I kept missing the ball completely Lol, whoops! Shaun is pretty good so he took my turn a few times haha!

I launched a brand new EDUCATION PAGE with photography mentoring, business intensives, strategy sessions, workshops/events and free resources! If you’re interested in working 1 on 1 with me, feel free to check out the new page and shoot me an email at angie@mcphersonphotos.com!

Speaking of education, I had an amazing Business Intensive with Emily of Elovephotos! We talked about workflow, marketing, social media, pricing, blogging and more! Emily is an AMAZING, sweet soul balancing being a mom, wife and running a photography business. I’m so proud of all she has accomplished and I’m inspired by her constant happiness and positive spirit!

I teamed up with Crystal to host a styled Shoot-A-Thon at Historic Jasmine Plantation! The Shoot-A-Thon is a ‘hands-on’ style workshop for photographers to build their portfolio and get in a ton of shooting practice before wedding season starts! Different stations represented the important aspects of a wedding day including professionally styled tables and beautiful models. Our vibe was modern and romantic with spring flowers, colors and textures. Hints of muted blush and greenery surrounded the landscape and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way the vendors brought our vision to life! If you’re a photographer and interested in attending our Summer Shoot-A-Thon, sign up on the waitlist HERE!

My sweet boy! We have been outside A LOT this past month. The weather has been absolutely beautiful and Koa can’t get enough! I can’t wait for beach days!

May

I kicked off this month with a photography mentoring session with DeJohnna! This girl has such a sweet heart and the drive to jump start her business! In addition to talking all things business (marketing, website critique, workflow, pricing, etc.), she shadowed me during an anniversary session! I gave her tips on posing, choosing locations and finding the best light. SO fun!

Crystal and Jared modeled for that mentoring session! They just celebrated their 4 year anniversary so the timing was perfect! Can’t wait to blog these two tomorrow!

Here are the amazing couples that are getting married this month 🙂

Carrie & Kellen

Anita & Bartley

Lorin & Lawrence

Emilie & Ryan

Elizabeth & Joe are getting married in ARUBA next week!! AHHH! We’re saving all their pre-wedding pics for when we arrive in paradise 🙂

I’ll be home just in time for Mother’s Day and can’t wait to hug my boys! What have you all been up to? I want to hear all about it in the comments!

XOXO
