Kelley & Nathan’s Woman’s Club of Portsmouth wedding was so lighthearted and carefree so I’m excited to share her wedding planning advice today! The tips she gives are all things brides should read and really take to heart in the planning stage (especially #1 and #5!) so read more below in the Tips for Brides series!
From Kelley:
1. Pressure- As with anything these days I feel like there is a lot of pressure for weddings to be Pinterest (and now Instagram) perfect. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can have the ideal looking wedding on the outside or through someone’s computer screen but if things aren’t right on the inside with your relationship then none of the rest matters. Put you and your hubby first, always.
2. Wedding planner- do it. I wish I had used Jamie from Jamie Leigh Events starting from the moment I was engaged. Wedding planners are there to help in literally THE most stressful time, soooo worth it.
3. Pictures! Spend money on a good photographer because when it comes down to it those pictures are what you will have to look back on.
4. Keep it small- The guest count, the wedding party, the budget…just keep it small. Less stress for everyone.
5. Grace- Give yourself a lot of it! Weddings are crazy. Something will go wrong, someone won’t be on the guest list, food will run out, you’ll get something on your dress, your crazy aunt will steal the show…who knows. Just take a deep breath and give yourself (and your hubby!) a lot of grace.
PS- Please be kind to your vendors! They are hardworking professionals 🙂
