Today I’m kicking off a new aspect of the Tips for Brides series! I reached out to my fabulous #AngieMcPhersonBrides to ask for wedding planning advice they’d give to newly engaged couples! You’ll find their insights and differences in perspective so helpful. I’m so excited to share Katherine’s advice today because she and Ben had a BEAUTIFUL Woman’s Club of Portsmouth wedding over the summer! Read below for her words of wisdom! <3
From Katherine-
“I think my biggest advice would be not to stress the little things. The last couple of weeks before the wedding got a little chaotic. I spent so much time worrying about all the little details that the week of the wedding came and I was still trying to finish the seating chart. I wanted to be a perfectionist and had a hard time delegated projects to others. Everything got finished just in time however I didn’t get as much down time as I would have liked to have had to enjoy the last moments leading up to the big day. Everyone wants their day to be perfect so when people offer to help, actually take them up on their offer. This will also help on the day of because others will know what you have been working on and what to do.
I would also recommend having a wedding checklist with directions of things that you would like set up. Since I was busy getting ready with my bridesmaids, the little things I had put together never got set up in time for our ceremony. We had chosen to incorporate a unity sand frame into our ceremony but it got overlooked and never made it out of the box I had brought. Luckily our officiate was quick to notice and added in a quick reading so no one even noticed.”
Thanks so much for sharing your experience and advice, Katherine! I can relate to SO many things you said- especially not having much downtime the week of my wedding 5+ years ago! Your wedding was so beautiful and I loved seeing how happy you two were throughout the entire day despite the small details 🙂
