It’s official, friends! I have changed my business name from McPherson Photography to
Angie McPherson Photography!
What brought on the change?
Ya’ll know I’ve been getting more personal this year! Posting about our son Koa Avery, showing appreciation for my family/friends/clients/supporters, telling hilarious stories in GIFS, sharing my business & personal goals and recapping how I strive to grow my business through coaching sessions… I was bound to make this change! I love for people to get to know Angie McPherson, the gal behind the business, blog and lens. Over the past few years, I have actually had a handful of inquiries ask me what my name was, HA! That is not good! I pride myself on creating personal relationships with my clients so starting that relationship from the very beginning, before they even decide to email me, is key.
When did you decide this?
When I launched by business in 2013, I actually wanted to name it Angie McPherson Photography. I saw that there was another one in the country and didn’t want to confuse anyone. Well, I’m over that now! I can see in my analytics that many of my website visitors actually google ‘Angie McPherson Photography’ and ‘Angie McPherson Photos’ anyway. I’ve wanted to make this change since January and can’t believe it’s taken me this long!
Will changing everything over take time?
Yes, I believe so! My amazing designer cousin, Malcolm Simmons, updated my logo super quick (thank you)! I then changed my Facebook page name and spent an EMBARRASSINGLY long time switching out my hashtags on Instagram. I’ve decided to keep my URL the same for a little while longer. There are so many websites out there that link to www.McPhersonPhotos.com blog posts that will completely go to an error page after I make a switch. I’m so not looking forward to that! And Pinterest, oh my gosh. I get a headache just thinking about how I’ll have to re-pin everything! Yikes! I think I’ll wait until I get some serious downtime (maybe December/January) to tackle that next step. Plus I need to change my business license, bank account, etc. Bare with me, friends!
Thanks for your constant, support! I hope this change doesn’t confuse anyone and I truly think it will be better for my growing business and the relationships I love to grow with my clients and readers.
XOXO

yay, I think this is a great move! Just a tip, you can always set up a redirect for your url so you don’t lose all that good SEO juice and time. So excited to see everything come together!
