May is coming to an end and it’s been amazing month full of quality time, announcements, celebrations and education! Here’s a quick review of what my month has been like 🙂
Sisters in the City
The first weekend in May, my sister Cherie and I visited our sister Melanie in NYC! We had the best time walking through Central Park, venturing to Harlem for some soul food, burning those calories in a Beyoncé dance class and just hanging out! See more of our trip here!
Mentoring
I had two mentoring sessions this month with some amazing ladies! Brooke of Brooke Waldroup Photography and Kristen of K. DiNenna Photography!
Kristen came to my house and we talked about off-camera flash, getting sharp images and editing techniques. I also snapped some headshots of Kristen outside and edited them right in front of her. I loved watching the light bulbs go off in her head! It reminded me of when I mentored with some amazing photogs in the past!
Brooke and I met at Panera to chat about workflow, blogging, organization, productivity and growing her business. We ended the session with posing practice at CNU! Sabrina & Corey were our models and it was a blast to share my posing tips and watch Brooke put them into action! She rocked it 🙂
Elizabeth Henson Meet & GreetÂ
My sweet pal Elizabeth Henson invited me to speak at her Meet & Greet about my journey to going full time! I enjoyed meeting the photographers, answering questions and hearing about everyone’s experience. Love the community Elizabeth is creating!
Mother’s Day
We went to Busch Gardens on Mother’s Day with friends and Koa had a blast! We let him ride a few rides for the first time and boy I am a nervous momma haha! I took him on a water ride (safe and easy) and Shaun took him on a ride with some height. I had anxiety the entire ride watching them going up and down LOL!
Let’s Wed Launch
Finally launched my huge project I worked on for 6 months!! A fun, fresh and relatable wedding website for brides, grooms & wedding professionals in Hampton Roads! Check it out at LetsWedHamptonRoads.com and see the styled shoot we created for the launch!
Ciera & Darian’s Lesner Inn wedding
What a fun day!! Ciera & Darian are SO cute together and their wedding day was bright and colorful despite the rainy weather! You have to see how fly they look next to the Rolls Royce!
Our 5 year anniversary
Shaun and I celebrated 5 years of marriage on May 28th! I still cannot believe it’s been that long! It’s been such a fun ride with this guy and I can’t wait to see where we are in life in another 5 years! On Saturday, we celebrated over an amazing dinner at Travinia Italian Kitchen and walked next door to see The Jungle Book at Paragon Theaters (yay for reclining leather seats)! It was a wonderful low-key day, just what we needed after a very busy month! We look so young in this wedding picture! <3
