A Personal Update in iPhone Photos

Life has been so busy the past few weeks but I’ve made it a goal to always prioritize family time. I wanted to update you all on what we’ve been up to but you won’t find any pretty professional images here. These are a few authentic moments captured on my iPhone (sometimes it’s nice to leave my bulky camera at home haha)!

I stopped Koa Avery’s monthly updates at 12 months so I’m so happy to get him on the blog today! He’s now 14 months and is such a fun little toddler! We took him to the Virginia Living Museum and he had a BLAST! One thing I love most about parenthood is seeing life through the eyes of a child.

They have a children’s play area which fake food, animals and a play kitchen. The picture on the left cracks me up. Koa is obsessed with snacking on cheerios and the VLM had the bright idea of putting them in a tupperware container. For what- I don’t know. Koa kept handing it to me to open it so he could snack on them but it wasn’t ours to open! Sorry buddy!

Such a brave boy 🙂 Oh and see that golf club he’s holding? It was a birthday gift from our friends Deanna & Eddie and he takes it everywhere LOL! He always carries it (and everything else) in his left-hand so we think he’s left-handed! Any parents of left-handed children out there? Did they show a preference this early?

Koa enjoyed watching the otters play. I love when he holds my hand!

That alligator looks fake but he wasn’t!

Shaun and I actually just came back from a weekend getaway to Orlando! We went to both Universal Studios parks during the day and Halloween Horror Nights at night. I think it was scarier than Busch’s Hawl-O-Scream! One of the haunted house themes was The Purge so you already know that’s a different level of scary haha. The pictures below were from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios. You guys!! My Harry Potter loving heart just couldn’t take it!! The pictures don’t do it justice (I regretted not bringing my camera at this point). It looked JUST like the movie from the major details to the tiny ones! If you are a Harry Potter fan, you MUST put this on your bucket list!

Remember Gringotts Bank the the goblins from the movie? Seemed like an exact replica! This was actually a line for an AWESOME ride.

Since we were there for just a weekend, everything went pretty fast paced. We made sure to get some chill time by the hotel pool and it was so needed. The weather was in the high 80s and the resort had a DJ blasting some Caribbean tunes. Bliss.

This trip helped me reflect on so much. You cannot let the busyness of life consume you. You HAVE to schedule personal time (family time, time with your significant other and ‘me’ time). We of course couldn’t stop talking about Koa the entire trip and can’t wait to vacation with him next year! What have you been up to? Have you been on any trips recently or have one planned? XO!
