So excited to share Chiquita & Jerome’s engagement session! I had so much fun getting to know these two while walking around William & Mary and love how Jerome makes Chiquita laugh like no one else!

Chiquita & Jerome met while attending the National Black Student Leadership Conference. She was a senior at Lehigh University in PA and Jerome in a graduate program at JMU in VA. They were in the same session during the conference and needed to split up into groups. Jerome invited Chiquita to join his group because of her pretty smile (duh)!

Following the conference, they became friends on Facebook. There wasn’t much communication at first, but after realizations that they shared mutual friends, Jerome reached out! From there, the relationship skyrocketed 🙂

Their engagement story very much follows Jerome’s personality (he is SOOOO hilarious)! On March 19, 2013 they were enjoying a normal dinner at home. At this point, she was pretty sure he had bought the ring and anxiously wondered when he would pop the question. Jerome eventually told Chiquita that he did have the ring and “If you can find it, you can have it.” HAHA! Chiquita’s response? “Challenge accepted.” Because she knew Jerome so well, she walked upstairs and immediately found the ring in his closet. She handed him the box (smiling from ear to ear) and waited. He said, “Love of my life, will you be my wife?” She must have taken too long to respond because he then said “…Well, si or no?” LOL, silly! I love it! She of course said yes! Since then, there have been a couple of great job transitions that have lead them to live in Virginia. They are now settled and will be married exactly 3 years later on March 19, 2016!
