I LOVE talking about business! One of the questions I’m often asked in mentoring sessions is, “How did you take your business to the next level?” It really makes me reflect on the last 5 years so I decided to share it with my fellow creative business owners! Marketing Plan

This one stems from my marketing background, of course! I have a degree in Communication (emphasis in Public Relations) and worked in marketing for 8 years before I jumped into full-time entrepreneurship! I don’t do ANYTHING without a marketing plan. You know that quote, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”? I wholeheartedly believe that haha! I have a marketing plan for my business, social media, blogging, workshops, giveaways, email list building, launching a new service, etc. It leaves room for measuring what worked and what didn’t work so I can readjust at any time! Automation

One of the major changes I made last year to be more productive, save time and focus on bigger projects was automating as MUCH as I could in my business! I wrote an entire blog on how I automate (and what tools I use) so you can view it HERE. Since putting systems into place, I am now able to serve my clients (and myself!) so much better than when I had my head buried in repetitive, simple tasks.

Consistency

It’s as simple as showing up! Blogging, posting on social media, providing helpful content. There’s no science to this other than to show up and serve your audience. I love sharing about my beautiful clients and their weddings, showing behind the scenes, giving tips, talking about running a business and just being downright silly at times (mainly in my Instagram stories so it gets deleted in 24 hours LOL).

Accountability

Find your tribe! I would NOT be where I am in business today with my small group business besties, their encouragement, and support. We check in via Voxer every day, share ideas, give feedback and act as if we’re co-workers haha! Having likeminded people in your corner makes a world of a difference!

Continuing to Invest in Education

I’m going on FIVE years in business and I still invest education! Whether it be business or photography courses, retreats, workshops, online tutorials, etc. I love to learn and since I run my own business, I have to invest in my own education. We can always learn something new and it will only take us farther in business!
