Happy New Year, friends!! This is my first blog of 2016 so I really want to set the foundation for the year with today’s post. Last year, I posted my personal & business goals and loved having them on my website to reference as the year went on. This year, I’ve decided to do things a little differently! I’ve seen a wave of people leaving the long list of resolutions/goals behind and choosing ONE WORD for the year. Genius! I can work with one word. One word to focus on in my business and personal life. One word to inspire me, push me, motivate me and challenge me.

And that word is…

DARE

1. to have the necessary courage or boldness for something
2. to face courageously

“Dare?! Say whaaaaaat?” you might ask. Being a wife, mom, photographer and business owner not only takes a lot balance but also a lot of courage. I have so many big dreams for 2016 and things are already starting to fall into place. I’m talking about things I would have been scared to do years ago! Well kick rocks, fear! Because I’m launching a HUGE (top secret) project early this year that I’ve been working on for months. I’m also daring myself to further improve my work/life balance, be the best momma to Koa Avery, go on more dates with my husband, spoil the heck out of my couples, make more memories, perfect my craft, dream bigger, take more risks, turn off the computer at a reasonable hour and get more sleep, say yes to things that scare me and no to things that don’t interest me, blog more, eat healthier, stay active and the list goes on. Notice how the above list is ALL over the place? Haha! That’s exactly why I’m choosing ONE WORD to focus on that can relate to all aspects of life. I’m so excited about this year and can’t wait to show you all that I’ve been working on!
