Oh these two!! Ciera & Darian’s engagement session was full of laughter and reminded me why I love this job so much. It’s so FUN hanging out with the sweetest couples capturing their excitement to be married soon! When Ciera told me she wanted to take their engagement pictures at Old Dominion University, I instantly smiled! Like Ciera & Darian, I graduated from ODU and couldn’t wait to walk around campus (and not have to go to any classes haha)!

It’s funny to hear how Ciera & Darian met. Their mom’s knew each out through work and shared pictures of the two! For about a year, Ciera’s mom would mention her friend’s single son but Ciera said she could find her own man (I mean, she’s gorgeous and super sweet)! She finally gave in and added him on Facebook. Darian immediately knew who she was and initiated conversation. They realized they attended ODU at the same time but never met! The two hit it off and spent their first date laughing and joking in the car so long that hours went by, totally throwing off their real plans! One day, they walked around Fort Monroe Beach and Darian started to write funny phrases in the sand. Eventually, one writing read “Ciera, will you marry me?” He pulled the ring out and got on one knee!

We had a great time walking around ODU’s campus and ended at Hague Pedestrian Bridge! Ciera even brought a cute picnic setup and and Darian was happy to help lay everything out. These two are such a team and I cannot wait to capture their wedding day at the Lesner Inn next year!!
