2015 Personal Goals | Hampton Roads Wedding Photographer

Last week, I posted my 2015 Business Goals. Now it’s time to post the personal ones! I honestly have too many personal goals to post but I can consider these my top 10 🙂

1) Stay active in church & strengthen my relationship with God- Before having Koa Avery, I went to Women’s Bible Study every week, we attended small group sessions for married couples (so fun!) and rarely missed service on Sundays. I have to admit, we have been kind of slacking! Change is coming! Our participation is going to start getting back to normal, I’ve already started following the current plan on She Reads Truth and my talks with God have been so, so refreshing.
2) Improve Work-Life balance- Fulfilling goal #1, being a wife & mom, working full-time, running a small business, shooting weddings & sessions, editing, blogging, spending time with family & friends are all things I LOVE to do. I absolutely live for it! I don’t like to say, “Oh I am soooo busy!” I’d rather say, “Wow, life is FULL and I am so blessed!” I’m going to do my best to balance everything so that I can enjoy all of these aspects of life and not burn out.
3) Give Koa Avery all of the unconditional love my heart can possibly provide- I almost went into detail about how I’m working on teaching him Baby Sign Language butttttt I realized that the most important thing I can teach him is how to love & respect others and enjoy the life God has given him. By the looks of this smile, I think I may be getting somewhere 🙂

It can be easy to focus so much on a new baby that you can forget to continue dating your husband. We are so blessed to have awesome family that can babysit so we can get dressed up and go out every now & then!

5) Get a good 7-8 hours of sleep most nights- This. is. hard (see #2) haha! I’m getting better, though!
6) Take a vacation- One thing you should know about me is that I love to PLAN and TRAVEL. I usually create a vacation itinerary starting from the time we board the plane to the time we get home LOL! Any suggestions on where to travel this year?

7) Eat Healthy & Stay Active- Rather than having a goal of losing a specific amount of weight, I’m going to focus on the main goal of being healthy and making it fun! Trying new & healthy recipes, getting back into fun fitnesses classes like Zumba and walking Koa & the pup most days of the week sound like a plan to me!
8) Spend time with family & friends– Ohhhh I can’t wait for it to warm up! Beach days with family and our awesome friends are a must. I foresee taking Koa to museums, the Zoo, Busch Gardens and road trips to visit family! Shaun and I took Koa and our pup Bentley on a nice long walk when we had that incredibly warm day in January and it was all I could ever ask for.
9) Take a picture of Koa Avery every day until his birthday in August- I’ve been using the Project 365 app to take a picture of this cutie every day since he was born in August 2014. It’s going to be so fun to look back on it when he turns 1 to see how much he’s changed!photo (1)10) Give Back- This is essential.  And you don’t always have to donate money to give back. You can donate your time, too! I think volunteering is so humbling. I may even blog about this!
