We’re already at the end of January but I’ve decided to publish my goals for 2015! I’m not calling them New Year’s Resolutions because goals seem more intentional. Plus, I love a good checklist! It’s going to be fun to review this post at the end of the year and see if I completed everything. I’m posting this so you can hold me accountable!! What goals do you have for 2015? Would love to see them in the comment section!
Now these are my business goals so check back next week to see my personal goals 🙂

1) Blogging twice a week- Oh boy, consistency is key! I already blog every wedding, session and Koa Avery’s monthly update but I could be sharing SO much more! I definitely want to put myself out there more on the blog and that starts with this very post! I’ll be covering wedding planning tips, behind the scenes, photography tips as well as more personal posts. Wish me luck!
2) Complete the McPherson Photography Bridal Guide- This has been a HUGE project of mine for the past few weeks! I’m customizing a beautiful wedding magazine (thanks Katelyn James!) to be filled with my images and a great amount of wedding planning tips! This will be professionally printed and mailed to my brides by mid-March 🙂 Aren’t Jordan & Arthur just beautiful on the cover?
3) Get published- I plan on submitting all of my weddings to wedding blogs this year!
4) Feature favorite vendors on the blog- There are so many vendors I’ve worked with over the past few years and would love to interview for the blog. I need to feature this guy, Malcolm Simmons! He has created my logos and business cards. He is also amazing at wedding stationary & save-the-dates! Not to mention.. he’s my cousin hahaha! I may be biased but he totally deserves it!
5) Photograph a Destination Wedding- This is my dreammmmm you guys!! I love to travel and get excited just thinking about shooting a beautiful wedding somewhere like Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, etc. Let’s make this happen, friends! If you know anyone planning a destination, feel free to send them my way!
6) Continue to learn, learn, learn- This is a goal I set for myself every year starting with the very first Amanda Hedgepeth Q&A back in 2013! I started this year with a bang by coaching with Katelyn James (read the recap here) and I’m always craving to learn more about photography and running a small business! I look forward to finding a workshop this year, meeting up for lunch & dinners with photog friends and reading books like Tribes and GirlBoss). I owe it to my clients to find ways to give them the best experience possible- not just great images!
7) Organize and photograph a Styled Shoot- I’ve attended a few styled shoots over the past 2 years and would love to team up with a local wedding coordinator to organize one this Spring or Summer!
8) Photograph a Trash the Dress session- I’ve already got a sweet couple lined up for this as SOON as it gets warm!
9) Photograph a surprise proposal- Fellas, let me know! I’ll hide in the bushes with my extra zooooom lens and she won’t even know I’m there! We’ll have an awesome portrait session after she says YES and she’ll love you forever for capturing that moment!
10) Complete Home Office- This is a never ending journey because I’m always finding things to add to my office haha! The basics are there: canvases of weddings & portraits, some wall art, desk, computer, printer, etc. Would love to add a splash of paint and a few more final touches! I’ll post my progress throughout the year.
Please share your goals for 2015 below and check back next week for my personal goals! xoxo
Love all these goals! Glad to see you are doing to well! Too bad you can’t come to Cali and do a homecoming shoot!
